Behavioral Health Services

Brotman Medical Center's Behavioral Health Unit provides psychiatric care for adults in a comfortable and confidential environment. Treatment is individualized to meet each patient's unique needs on three separate units. We treat a wide range of psychiatric illnesses including: psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and substance-related disorders. The interdisciplinary team is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, group therapists, nursing staff and psychiatric rehabilitation therapists. Together they design an individualized treatment plan, provide group therapy and therapeutic activities seven days per week in a supportive environment.

The Behavioral Health Unit offers a specialized treatment program with two separate tracts. Groups, such as reality orientation, creative therapy, anger management, stress management and coping skills, increase esteem and emotional expression and provide useful tools for living with a mental illness. In addition, our dual diagnosis tract focuses on the double challenge of having both a psychiatric illness and a chemical dependency. It provides groups that address the unique issues relevant to these patients.

Our staff will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding the Behavioral Health Unit and our programs and services. Please contact us at (310) 836-7000 ext. 6600.
